Rose Evelyn Waltz

Rose Evelyn Winekauf Waltz, 84, of Tipton passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 10:30 am at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Visitation will be held for friends and family from 4-7 pm on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Fry Funeral Home. Rose will be buried at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Rose was born October 10, 1928 to Floyd and Verna (Wagner) Winekauf. She married Melvin LeRoy Waltz on July 26, 1947. Rose and Melvin farmed in eastern Iowa in the early years. Rose was dedicated to raising her 5 children and worked as a bookkeeper for the family welding business. She enjoyed dancing, fishing and playing cards. Rose was a member of the Women of the Moose. Rose is survived by her daughter, Rita (Todd) Catlett of Nichols; sons, Gary (Linda) Waltz of Tipton, Merle (Diana) Waltz of Tipton, Randy (Irene) Waltz of Conesville, and Rick (Beth) Waltz of Tipton; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; grandson, Eric Grau; sisters, Loretta Shultz, Mary Wilson, Alberta Winekauf; and brother, Charles "Chuck" Winekauf.
