Ruby Phelps

Ruby I. Fulwider Phelps was born April 20, 1917, in Tipton, Iowa. She graduated in 1936, from Tipton High School. On February 11, 1937, Ruby was united in marriage to Max R. Phelps in Anamosa, Iowa. She worked as a secretary at Phelps Insurance. She was a member of Red Oak King's Daughters and past organist for Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Ruby is survived by her husband, Max Phelps of Tipton, Iowa; her sons, Doug Phelps & wife, Della of Mechanicsville, Iowa and Kerry Phelps & wife Kit, of Tipton, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Thea O'Grady & husband, Pat; Jeff Phelps & wife Stephanie; Kiley Phelps & fiance', Chris; and Jonathan and Kayla Phelp; 3 great-grandchildren, Emily, Claire, and Ryan Phelps; her sister, Laurale Hunter & husband Kenneth of West Branch, Iowa; and sister-in-law. Nora Fulwider of Tipton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Fulwider; her mother, Nona Fulwider Hipple; and her step-father, Forest (Shorty) Hipple; brothers, Jack and Jim Fulwider; a daughter-in-law, Karen Phelps; and sister-in-law, Edith Fulwider.
