Russell James Brooks

Russell James Brooks, 57 years of age, entered eternity on Saturday, September 21 while under the care of St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids from complications of stomach cancer. Per his wishes there will be no formal services. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Russell was born on May 12, 1962 in Marengo, Iowa. He was the son on Robert Eugene Brooks and Carol Ann Lerch Brooks Behrle. Russell worked at several different jobs during his life but found pleasure being with friends and family. When he became ill with stomach cancer and lived under the care and keeping of his mother, Carol. One of his most enjoyable moments was cooking steaks on the grill for himself and his mother.

Russell is survived by his mother, Carol Ann Behrle of Tipton, Iowa; his children, April, James, Katlyn, Michael, Carolann, Mayle and Curtis; and several grandchildren; his sister, Robin Brooks of Tipton, Iowa; and his two brothers, Ronnie Brooks of Stanwood, Iowa and Randall Brooks of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, his wife, Christina and his two brothers, Raymond and Rocky Brooks.
