Ruth Jennings

Ruth Lanetta Jennings, daughter of Otis Edward and Margaret Mae Hines Wagaman, was born December 13, 1917 in Cedar County, Iowa. She graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1936. Ruth was united in marriage to Herbert Harold Jennings on March 19, 1938 in Tipton, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tipton. Ruth is loved and survived by her daughters, Mary Lindemann and husband, Bob of Iowa City; Ann Rebal of Iowa City; Sharon Pease and husband, John of Cedar Rapids; Linda Jennings of Cedar Rapids; and Donna Terfler and husband, Joe of Cedar Rapids; sons, Wally Jennings and wife, Sandy of Davenport; Robert Jennings of Davenport; Dwight Jennings of Tipton; and Chuck Jennings of Tipton; son-in-law, Phillip Chicchelly of Cedar Rapids; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Richard Wagaman and wife Alberta of Tipton; and James Wagaman and wife, Edie of Lockport, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband , Herbert Jennings who died March 27, 2001; brothers, Myron, Lyle, John and William Wagaman; daughter, Virginia Chicchelly; grandsons, Kurt Gardner and Travis Jennings; son-in-law, Lenny Rebal; daughter-in-law, Patricia Jennings; and family friend, Larry Tinker. Ruth's family will remember her as a loving, compassionate person who always put others first. Her family would like to extend their appreciation to Pastor Donnita Moeller, St. Luke's Hospice and Hospital, and Prairie Hills Assisted Living for their special care. Memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tipton in memory of Ruth.
