Sally Jo Hain, daughter of William Taft and Marie Erma Johnson Hain, was born on July 28, 1935 in Moline, Illinois. She was one of four children. Sally graduated from Muscatine High School and was a member of the class of 1953. Sally retired from Louis Rich after working there for 15 years and then worked as a cashier for Family Foods in Tipton for 4 years. Sally was a member of the protestant faith. She enjoyed playing bingo, taking an occassional trip to the river boat to try her luck, she enjoyed looking at and creating crafts, but most of all, she loved her family and loved listening to music by Elvis Presley. Sally is survived by her two daughters; Nancy Grimm and husband, Todd, of Ainsworth, Iowa; Tina Foulks and husband Michel, of Tipton, Iowa; her son, Terry Shafer and wife Wendy of Warrensburg, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, Theresa Oberkiser, Krissie Kane, Kenny Kane, Kevin Shafer, Sarah Shafer, Magin Shafer, Jessi Shafer, Laura Shafer, Aaron Shafer, Brian Shafer, Chasidie and husband, Mike Fogg, Alicia and husband, Dave Fogg, Hope Sterner, Brittany Foulks and Brody Foulks; 6 great grandchildren, Jakob Grimm, Zander Fry, Danvon Jones, Maxon Fogg, Koda Fogg and Larkyn Fogg. Sally was preceded in death by parents, two brothers and one son. A general memorial fund has been established in her memory.
