Sandi Kay Cook, daughter of Charles and Hattie Klumforth Smith was born February 15, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Earl Eugene Cook on April 11, 1980 in Rock Island, Illinois. Sandi above all loved her family. She was a woman of strength, beauty and honesty. She was known by many friends for her creative talents and quick wit. Sandi loved to paint decorate, yard sale and have coffee with friends. She was a fun-loving woman whom always was willing to share her wisdom and life experiences with others. Grandma Sandi will be remembered for her laugh and the dignity she carried with her each day. She was a proud woman and an inspiration to everyone she encountered. Sandi instilled the value of family in her everyday life. Those remaining to carry on the memory of Sandi are her daughters, Katie (Bob) Herring of Iowa City, Iowa, Chris (Daryl) Olney of Iowa City, Iowa, Heidi (Roger) Morrison of West Liberty, Iowa; sons, Ed (Barb) Linnell of Iowa City, Iowa, Todd (Mary) Linnell of Iowa City, Iowa, Shawn (Cheryl) Cook of DuBois, Illinois; grandchildren, Natalie and Austin Slach, Amy Vargason, Emily Morrison, Jake, Roy and Maddie Linnell, Will Dolf, Taylor, Olivia, and Carson Cook, Shannasey and Megan Linnell; great-grandchild, Alyssa; and sister, Donna Lounsbury. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Cook. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice in memory of Sandi.
