Shirley Cawiezell

Shirley Ann Cawiezell, 74, of Tipton, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Shirley was born on May 24, 1935 in Davenport, Iowa to Ernie John and Florence Mildred Stock Cawiezell. She attended school in Tipton and was very active in many scholastic activities, winning many spelling contests, involved in school musicals and plays as well as being very active in her local 4-H. In October of 1952 Shirley was involved in a car accident which left her with a lifetime disability but despite her impairment she travel with her parents to many locations and enjoyed her family and friends. Her parents cared for her until she moved in to Cedar Manor Nursing Home in 1991. Shirley is survived by her mother, Florence Cawiezell of Tipton; her brothers, Wally (Barb) Cawiezell of Tipton, Kenny (Pat) Cawiezell of Palo; her sister Ruby (Larry) Ivans of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 2002 and her sister, Karen, in 1967. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.
