Sidney Cook

Sidney John Cook was born November 21, 1934 to Leo and Gladys Ehresman Brennan in Tipton, Iowa and named Lee Oliver Brennan. After the death of his mother he was adoped by Sidney Cook and his grandmother, Mary Psota Brennan Cook at which time his name was changed to Sidney John Cook. He attended school in California and Tipton High School while growing up. On September 28, 1965, Sidney married Klarene Marie Brown in Kelly, Wyoming. Sidney was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a farmer and part time school bus driver in Mt. Vernon. Sidney also worked as a carpenter and in construction. Those who love and honor Sidney's memory are his wife, Klarene Cook of Mechanicsville, Iowa; daughters, Teresa (Russell) Voss of Tipton, Iowa, Denise Cook of Marion, Iowa, Meloni (David) Griffiths of Tipton, Iowa, Mindy (Jeff) Otten of Tipton, Iowa; sons, Ronald (Amy Merfeld) Cook of Oshgosh, Wisconsin, Timothy Cook of Mechanicsville, Iowa, Travis Cook of Mechanicsville, Iowa; grandchildren, Amy Voss, Lisa Thompson, Malinda Thimmes, Jason Voss, Stephanie Coppess, Amanda Schmidt, Katie Wagner, Sydney Griffiths, Audra Griffiths, Gavin Griffiths, Hunter Cook, Payton Cook, Brianna Otten, Jacob Otten; great grandchildren, Ryan Voss, Sarah Voss, Jared Thompson, Courtney Thompson, MacKenzie Thompson, Meranda Thimmes, Logan Thimmes, Ethan Thimmes, Ashlyn Voss, Brayden Voss, Meredith Coppess, Bailey Schmidt, Caden Schmidt, Hanna Schmidt; step mother, Bess Brennan; half sisters, Mary Ann (Tom) Kemmann of Moline, Illinois, Debbie (Steve) Schafer of Moline, Illinois; half brothers, Robert (Janette) Brennan of Tipton, Iowa, and Richard (Linda) Brennan of Tipton, Iowa.
