Stephen Michael Scott

Stephen “Steve” Michael Scott, 64, of Tipton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, with his wife, Christine, by his side.

Steve was born on September 20, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Michael and Alice (Chorpening) Scott. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1980. On April 17, 1982, he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Lynn Neuzil, in Richmond, Iowa. Their marriage was a true partnership—marked by devotion, laughter, and a deep love for one another and their children.

Steve earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in 1993 and worked at Tipton Pharmacy and later at Walgreens in Davenport. He was known for his gentle demeanor, dedication to his patients, and commitment to his profession. Though he retired early due to health complications, Steve remained actively involved in the lives of those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Scott; his children, Kayla Scott (Daniel Kraft), Kyle Scott (Nicholas Guriani), and Adam Scott (Jyoti Arora); his parents, Mike and Alice Scott; his sisters, Deb Scott (Jack Barnes) and Kris Smith (Mark Smith); and his in-laws, Don and Arlene Neuzil. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished him.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Jannette Scott, and Lena and Ralph Chorpening.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, thoughtful nature, and unwavering devotion to his family. He took great pride in his children’s accomplishments and loved their spouses as his own. Above all, Steve cherished the life he built with Christine—their marriage was marked by deep affection, mutual respect, and enduring companionship. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and support.

Kind, protective, and hard-working, Steve lived his life with integrity and heart. His warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Steve was cremated, and a private burial will take place at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona, Iowa, at a later date.
