Sylvia Iona McQuillen, daughter of Alfred A. and Lillian Jane Burr Morgan, was born April 13, 1920, in Nichols, Iowa. She attended Rochester and West Branch Schools while growing up. On October 1, 1943, Sylvia was united in marriage to Norman Forest McQuillen in Bettendorf, Iowa. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, and a military wife for 27 years. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Twyla Formoso of Lebanon, Illinois, Aloha McQuillen of Tipton, Iowa; son, Norman (Gloria) McQuillen of Tipton, Iowa; grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda, Ryan and Amber; caregiver, James Webster of Tipton, Iowa; and her dog, Joey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Lillian Morgan; husband of 64 years, Norman McQuillen on March 5, 2008; brother, James Morgan; sisters, Elsie Lang, Viola Albin, Ruby Christian, Ruth Motz, Orpah Maurer, Margaret Pierce, and Dorothy Morgan. A memorial has been established in memory of Sylvia.
