Thomas Leon Carmack, 62, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 of ongoing heart issues ending in heart failure. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery with full military honors. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryuneralhome.com. Tommy was born on November 15, 1963 in Amarillo, Texas. He was the son of Charles “Bill” and Sandra Carmack. Thomas was married to his previous Shaunna Ristau in Iowa City in May of 2011. She preceded him in death (2014). Tommy made his home in Tipton IA with his wife, Lisa O’Haver where they shared 11 years together. Tommy graduated from United Township High School in East Moline IL and received his Degree from the Law Enforcement Academy in Ft. Worth, Texas. He worked many jobs in his lifetime but he is best known for his skills as a General Contractor. Thommy served his country in the United States Army from July 1982 to July 1987. He served in the Military Police and was involved in military intelligence training during the Granada Invasion.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Lisa O’Haver; his children, Dalton Carmack, Chase (Charlie) Carmack, Shanna (Tom) Bernauer, Holley Schultz, Cynthia (Michael) Davis and Michele O’Haver (Cameron Pettit); his father, Charles “Bill” Carmack and his brothers, Toby Carmack and Stevie (Donna) Carmack; and 19 grandchildren; Jordan, Breanna, Adam, Asia, Gaby, Alexis, Mason, Bella, Avery, Maddie, Hudson, Noah, Wyatt , Emma, Sean, Ethan, Emmett, Lilly and Easton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Carmack and his first wife, Shaunna Carmack.
