Thomas Mowry Donohoe, 68, of Stanwood, Iowa, passed away on April 17, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by family.
Tom was born on August 28, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Danna Lu (Mowry) Donohoe. He grew up in the Stanwood and Mechanicsville area and graduated from Lincoln Community High School with the Class of 1975.
Tom dedicated 29 years to the United States Postal Service as a rural postal carrier. He was known for his strong work ethic and the kindness he showed to those along his route, offering a steady and dependable presence.
Tom lived his life fully and generously. His compassion extended to everyone caring deeply for his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, listening to music and was an avid Hawkeye and Cyclone fan.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Rebecca (Patrick) Hensel, Karen Walsh, and Tracy Maher, his brother, John Donohoe, his brother-in-law, Thomas Bianciotto, Jr., several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sandra Bianciotto, his brother-in-law, P.J. Walsh, and his nephew, Kevin Walsh.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church, with Father Flattery officiating. A luncheon will be held in the church immediately following Mass. Burial at St. Bridget Cemetery, rural Solon, will take place following the luncheon.
