Thomas Frank Rutherford

Thomas Frank Rutherford, 72, Tipton, died Friday, April 13, 2012 in his home from pulmonary fibrosis. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 10:30 AM, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow in the Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Fry Funeral Home. A memorial to the Cedar Street Baptist Church has been established. Tom was born on April 22, 1939 in Thompson, IL and was the son of Orrie S. and Ellen M. Cheatum Rutherford. Tom received his GED and graduated from Clinton High School. On September 4, 1965 Tom was united in marriage to Carm Myers in Clinton. Tom was a machinist, millwright, heavy equipment operator, jewelry maker and was a member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church for nearly 35 years. Tom is survived by his wife, Carm, of Tipton, IA; children, Denise Wheeler of Ocala, FL, Debra Schinckel of West Lafayette, IN, Darcee Moreno of Ocala, FL, Connie Barnum of Marshalltown, IA, Randall Miller of Muscatine, IA, Bridgit Webber of LeClaire, IA, Gregory Miller of Wichita, KS, Mark Rutherford of Davenport, IA, Nicholas Rutherford of Powder Springs, GA, Kristina Rutherford of Tipton, IA; 28 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Rutherford of Tipton, IA; brothers, Richard Rutherford of Charles City, IA, and Ronald Rutherford of Monmouth, IA. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marjorie, and his brother, David Rutherford.
