Funeral services for Valedia Bell Sherwood Atkins, 101, of Tipton who died Sunday, November 27, 2011 will be held Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 am at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory. Valedia Bell Atkins, daughter of William F. and Effie Jane Adams Sherwood, was born September 25, 1910. She was united in marriage to Lewis Atkins. Valedia was a homemaker and a member of Jehovah Witness. Valedia is survived by her brother, Chester (Marvella) Sherwood of West Liberty, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Joyleen Sherwood, of Wilton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis in 1982; and brother, Robert Sherwood.
