Vance Fletcher

Vance Fletcher, son of Charles and Mary Ann Callahan Fletcher, was born February 9, 1917, in Muscatine County, Iowa. He was a 1936 graduate of Muscatine High School. On April 30, 1947, Vance was united in marriage to Mardel Margaret Hering at St. Joseph's Church in Davenport, Iowa. Vance worked as a farmer and loved horses. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton. Vance is loved and survived by his wife, Mardel Fletcher of Tipton, Iowa; daughter, Marilea Gradert and husband, Mike of Wilton, Iowa; sons, Faryl Fletcher and wife, Sandi of LaVerne, California, Mike Fletcher and wife, Lorna of Tipton, Iowa, Anthony Fletcher and wife, Linda of Colona, Illinois, Gary Fletcher and wife, Marcia of Muscatine, Iowa, his grandchildren, Brian Fletcher, Cindy Fletcher, Jennifer Wulf, Jamie Sheeder, Anthony Fletcher II, Mandy Fletcher, Brandon Gradert; great-grandchildren,Vance Mason Fletcher, Brady Wulf, Alyssa Wulf, Logan Vance Fletcher, Isabella Fletcher, and Riley John Gradert. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son in infancy, Joseph Fletcher; sisters, Laura Cole, Blanche Paul, Elizabeth Cole; brothers, Charles, Robert, Don, and Desmond Fletcher. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or Cedar Manor Nursing Home.
