Verlee Florence Bromell

Verlee Florence Pace Bromell, 80, formerly of Tipton, died Sunday, January, 9, 2011 in Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, at 10:30 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton with Rev. Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Fry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be James and Jeff Laughlin, Bryan Hearn, Justin Stein, William Hartwig, and Nathan Hubler. Honorary Casket Bearers are Lindsey, Brady, Caden, Ryan, Jeni and Shawna Laughlin, LeAnn Hearn and Jaymee Hearn, Kaylynn Stein, Melyssa and Tiffany Muhs, Melissa Martin, and Jennifer Leggett. Verlee was born May 1, 1930, in Atalissa, Iowa, daughter of Clyde Leroy and Florence Agnes Schweitzenberger Pace. She attended school in Tipton. On March 7, 1948, Verlee was united in marriage to Leonard Leroy Bromell in the Stanwood Methodist Church. She was a member of Women of the Moose and had retired from Sheller Globe-Lear Production. Verlee is survived by her daughters, Patricia J. (Bill) Laughlin of West Liberty, IA, Cindy L. (Monte) Danielson of West Branch, IA, Michelle R. (Mark) Muhs of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sandra R. Stein of West Branch, IA; 7 grandchildren, James (Jeni) and Jeffrey (Shawna) Laughlin, Bryan Hearn, William Hartwig, Melyssa and Tiffany Muhs, Justin Stein; great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Brady, Caden and Ryan Laughlin, LeAnn and Jaymee Hearn, Kaylynn Stein; sisters, Delores (Bob) Creque and Waunita Wentzel . She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard; grandson, Jason; brothers, Kenny and Weldon Pace. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in memory of Verlee.
