Vernon Carl Stuhr, son of Emil Charles and Fredia Ann Syring Stuhr, was born June 5, 1928, in Clarence, Iowa. He attended school in Lowden while growing up. Vernon served in the United States Army. Vernon was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Ford on September 22, 1954 in Clarence, Iowa. He worked for Wilson Meat Packing which later became Farmstead Foods. Vernon was a member of Tipton Veterans of Foreign War Post 2537. Vernon is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Stuhr of Tipton, Iowa; daughters, Wendy (Ronald) Lamp of Tipton, Iowa, Lisa (Dave) Wulf of Tipton, Iowa; and sons, Ronald Stuhr of Tipton, Iowa, Gary (Cindy) Stuhr of Tipton, Iowa, David Stuhr of Tipton, Iowa and Scott (Jacque) Stuhr of Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Fredia Stuhr; and brothers, Darold Stuhr and Robert Stuhr. A memorial has been established in honor of Vernon.
