Vincent H. Wurr, son of Emil and Frances Skalla Wurr, was born August 6, 1920 at Auburn, Iowa. He attended Coon Rapids Schools. Vincent was united in marriage to Betty J. Knute on November 23, 1944 at Carroll, Iowa. Vincent was employed as a laborer on several farms. In 1963 they moved to the Tipton area where he was employed by the Dairy Herd Imporvement Association in Cedar and surrounding counties, for 10 years as a production record keeper. He retired in 1973. Vincent was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was involved at the Senior Citizen Center and he also enjoyed singing in Country and Western bands. Vincent is survived by his wife, Betty, of Tipton, his daughters, Marjorie Vanden Brink and husband, Darrell, of Pekin, Illinois, Sharon Meiers and husband, Gary, of Tipton, Iowa, Patricia Hellstern and husband Joe, of Olin, Iowa: sons, Tim Wurr and wife Louise, of Iowa City, Iowa, and Terry Wurr and wife, Thu, of Tipton, Iowa. David and Terry Wurr were raised by Vincent and Betty following the death of their parents, David Lee and Janice Ann Wurr in 1971. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Wurr and wife Sandra of Coon Rapids, Iowa; sisters LuEtta Cashatt and husband Wayne of Eldora, Iowa, Maxine Haubrich and husband Gerald of Carroll, Iowa, June Anthofer and husband Ambrose of Granger, Iowa. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Frances, a brother Lawrence, and his son and daughter-in-law David Lee and Janice Ann Wurr.
