Waunita Shirley Wentzel

Waunita Shirley Wentzel, 85, of Tipton, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Crestview Nursing Home, West Branch. Funeral services for Waunita will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 10:30 am, Tipton United Methodist Church. Prior to funeral service there will be a time of visitation from 9:00-10:30 am. Interment will commence at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, with a luncheon to immediately follow at the church. Memorials in Waunita's honor may be directed to Tipton United Methodist Kitchen Fund, Cystic Fibrosis and Crestview Care Center. Online memorials may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Waunita was born on September 24, 1931, in Sunbury, Iowa to Clyde and Florence (Schweitzberger) Pace. She attended and graduated from Tipton High School with the class of 1950. Waunita completed Beauty School College in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to the late Harold Everett Wentzel and made Tipton their home where they raised their four children: Marcia, Bruce, Keith and Karen. Waunita owned and operated her own beauty salon in Tipton for 40 years before retiring. She was a member of Women of the Moose and BPW. Surviving Waunita are her children, Marcia (Roger) Easterling of Crescent City, FL, Bruce Harold Wentzel of Tipton, Keith (Mary) Wentzel of Rock Hill, S.C., and Karen Wentzel of West Branch; sister Delores Creque of Tipton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. Preceding Waunita were here parents, husband, sister Verlee and three brothers, Weldon, Kenneth and "Buddy" Pace.
