Whitney Kay Wilson

Whitney Kay Wilson, 29, of Dubuque and formerly of Bennett, entered eternal rest following a sudden illness, September 16, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, 11:00 am at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with a time of visitation prior to funeral service from 9:00-11:00 am. Whitney was born May 29, 1987 to David and Janice (Schwanke) Wilson and attended Bennett School for 5 years. Whitney moved to Hills and Dales Development Center-Dubuque, in 2000. While living in Dubuque she graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 2008 and then began employment at Life Training Center where she made gourmet puppy treats. Whitney was very strong-willed, but her contagious laugh and smile overpowered. A beautiful spirit and full of life; touched and inspired the lives of many, Whitney will be dearly missed, but the impact she made here will always be felt. Surviving Whitney are her parents, sister, Holland (Aaron) Warner of Cedar Rapids; grandparents, Ken and Sharon Schwanke of Bloomfield and Sharon Wilson of Bennett and all her aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded by her grandfather, James Wilson. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Whitney's second family at Hills and Dales, also to Finley Hospital, Dubuque and the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for their care and extended support.
