William Byrd

William Morris Byrd, Sr., son of Arlie Rosco & Mary Violet McCann Byrd, was born August 30, 1929 in Roxana, Illinois. He was a graduate of Atton High School. On October 28, 1959, William was united in marriage to Beverly Irene Abel in Alton, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army. William was a member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church in Tipton and the VFW Post 2537 of Tipton. He retired from Heinz. William is survived by his wife, Beverly Irene Byrd, of Tipton, Iowa; his daughters, Willeen Liley, of Alton, Illinois, Gail Myers, of Tipton, Iowa and Casandra Byrd, of Tipton, Iowa; sons, John Bryd & wife, Jennifer, of San Angelo, Texas, William Byrd, Jr., of Tipton, Iowa, Robert Byrd, & wife, Vickie, of Tipton, Iowa, Michael Tony" Byrd of Tipton Iowa and Jeff Byrd & wife Jodi of Tipton Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Grace Hosey of Bellville Illinois Gerri Seymour of Lexington Florida Harriett Byrd of South Carolina and Marydale Byrd of South Carolina; and his brothers Ralph Byrd of Godfrey Illinois and Harold Byrd of Mendon Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Arlie & Mary Byrd; and a brother Harry."
