William 'Bill' Herbert Carr

William ‘Bill’ Herbert Carr, 75, rural Mechanicsville, entered eternity on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 of natural causes. Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Monday, September 21st at 2:00 pm in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville, Iowa. Bill was the son of Nathan and Mildred Carr. He was born on September 24, 1944 in Iowa City. Bill graduated from Tipton High School and earned his BS Degree from Iowa State University in Agronomy. Bill was drafted into the United States Army where he served valiantly in Vietnam 1968/1969. Bill was a lifelong farmer who loved living on the family farm, being a brother and an uncle and great uncle. He loved to drive his Ford Mustangs and take them out on special occasions. Bill was an avid sports fan of all sports and would love to talk about his favorite teams, especially his Cyclones.

Bill is survived by his sister, Eleanor Carthey of Iowa City, his nephew and his wife, Brad and Marcia Carthey of Mt. Pleasant, his niece and her husband, Laura and Jon Wait of Centennial Colorado, as well as his great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Mildred.
