Cathy Joann (Moore) Niedorf

Cathy Joann (Moore) Niedorf, 72 of Tipton, IA, died with family by her side, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, while at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. All services will be Fry Funeral Home on Friday, March 17, 2023. Visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, and Funeral service at 11:00 am with Cremation rites to follow. Immediately following the funeral service, family and friends are invited to the Tipton VFW for a luncheon at 12:00 pm. A private family only graveside service will be held at a later date.

Cathy, daughter of Douglas Harry and Maxine Lorraine (Rushford) Moore, was born on Sunday, February 11, 1951 in Maquoketa, IA. She graduated from Capri College in 1973 and went on be one of the first female business owners in Tipton; opening her beauty salon, Touch of Class.
Cathy was a sassy, strong, determined and resilient woman that followed her own path in life. She was also very outgoing and colorful and an amazing cook. Cathy enjoyed playing card and board games with her children, especially euchre and Pictionary. She also loved flower gardening and spending time on the water, whether it was time spent camping, fishing, boating, sunbathing or just getting together with friends. After being diagnosed with Pick’s Disease at the age of 52, Cathy spent the remainder of her life in both the Iowa City Rehab Nursing Home and Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Cathy will always be remembered for the immense love she had for her family and especially her grandchildren. 

Cathy is survived by her daughters, Justine Kellar of Council Bluffs, IA and Jacqui Patterson of Valley, NE; grandchildren, Peyton, Taylor, Dana, Nicholas and Stephanie; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Packer. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Connie Blake.
