Donald Ray Kallenberger

Donald Ray Kallenberger, a lifelong resident of Tipton and Durant, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2023 while under the care of Cedar Manor and St. Croix Hospice.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.  There will be a private burial at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the organization of your choice. Don was born in Wilton on December 1, 1931, and as a child moved to Tipton with his parents, Lloyd & Norma (Regennitter).  He graduated from Tipton High School in 1950 and served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956.  Along with his father, he owned Kallenberger Grain in Tipton until 1978 when he began his career with the State of Iowa Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1993.

He married Bonita Schneekloth in 1957 in Tipton, where they resided until moving to Durant in 1997.  Bonita passed away in 1998.  Don married Shirley (Petersen) Schroeder in 2001 in Clarence and they resided in Durant.  Shirley passed away in 2019.
