Gary Everette Grove, 77, of Tipton, formerly of Oxford and Waterloo, died peacefully early in the morning on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 while under the care of Windmill Manor Nursing Home in Coralville. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Gary was born on Monday, September 18, 1944 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was the son of Cyrus and Opal Haney Grove. Gary completed his high school education and enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War era. Gary was united in marriage to Peggy Lynn Schropp on October 26, 1996 in Cedar Rapids. Gary owned and operated Hobodies Restaurant in Waterloo for several years and then drove for Pepsi as a route driver for several years.
Gary is survived by his wife, Peggy Grove and his son, Jason, both of Tipton; and his other sons, Brian and Robert; three grandchildren, Anne, Jordan and Autumn Grove; one great grandson, Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Opal.
