Harlan "Bill" Young

Harlan “Bill” Young, 77, entered his eternal rest on September 28, 2023 at his home in Tipton.  No services are planned.

Bill, son of Harlan and Gwendolyn (Eberle) Young, was born on Monday, February 25, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He graduated from Lincoln High School.  On August 24, 1965, he married Sharon Studt in Nashua, Iowa.  Bill and Sharon had two sons, Brad and Robert Young.  Bill was a manager at Wendling Quarries from 1990 until his retirement in 2010.

Bill was a devoted son, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family.  He enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his best friend, Dave Siver, motorcycling and dune buggy riding with his wife, son and daughter-in-law.  He also loved riding around in the golf cart, going to garage sales, and flee markets or just driving around the countryside with Sharon and Tucker.  He enjoyed “BSing” with all his friends.  He enjoyed his work and tinkering around in his man cave along with his constant companion, Tucker (Dog).  His greatest love was spending time with his one and only grandson, Cody -   always and forever, Gramp’s little buddy.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Brad (Leah) Young and Robert (Brenda) Young; and a grandson, Cody (Brenna) Young.
