Harold "Red" Davis Obituary

Harold “Red” Bernard Davis, Jr., 77, of Tipton, passed away at 1:24 am on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 21 at 10:30 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton with burial to follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Fry’s. A general memorial fund has been established in his memory. Red was born on December 26, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of Harold and Betty Davis, Sr..  Red attended Stanwood Community School and the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. He worked as a professional flooring installer for Stamos Furniture and Keller’s Home Furnishings from 1965 until he retired in 2004. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Tipton and Iowa City, Pheasants Forever, HAF Club in Lowden, Ducks Unlimited and played slo-pitch softball and bowled on several bowling leagues throughout the years. Red was united in marriage to Ferris Elaine Nebergall on December 1, 1963 in the South Bethel Methodist Church. Together they raised their three daughters, Bernadette, Dawn and Melissa.

Red is survived by his wife, Ferris Davis of Tipton, his daughters, Bernadette Fulmer of Coralville and Dawn Davis of Monticello, and his sister, Jackie (Bill) Dill of Grinnell, and his grandsons, Brandon and Justin Martin, and his nephews, Brent (Tiffany) Dill (Red’s God Son) of Palo and Jon (Tina) Dill of Grimes.  Red was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Davis, and his daughter, Melissa Davis.
