Janet Lee Carter, 72, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, took God’s hand and entered the pearly gates of Heaven on August 28, 2019. Visitation will be held in Tipton at Fry Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31 from noon until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow directly after at 1:00 pm also at Fry Funeral Home with Bill Hornback officiating. There will be a luncheon immediately following the funeral service in the lower level of the funeral home. There will be no graveside service as Janet will be cremated following her funeral. Janet was born to Francis and Dora Lee (Smith) Petersen on May 16, 1947 in Muscatine, Iowa. She graduated from West Liberty High School in 1965 and later married Francis “Bud” Carter. Janet began her employment years as a waitress, worked at Pyramid Graphics, was a manager at Manpower in Ottumwa, and later worked at H&R Block as a tax preparer. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and Jesus very dearly. She would often spend her time studying the Word of God, playing cards, doing crafts, arranging flowers and making wreaths, and spending time out in the landscape perfecting her rock garden.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Francis “Bud” Carter of Oskaloosa; sister Pat (Bob) Armbrust; her two sons Randall (Hope) Regennitter of Melrose, and Rick (Rhonda) Regennitter of Atalissa; one daughter Rebecca Irving of Mount Pleasant; two step-daughters Suzy (Terry) Walters of Ottumwa and Tami (Tony) Heisdorffer of Hedrick; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Sally Jo (Mike) McMurry of Centerville.
