Jo Ann (Frederick) Dietz

Jo Ann (Frederick) Dietz, 82, of Tipton, entered eternity early Saturday morning, November 19, 2022 while under the care of Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00 am at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow in Shawver Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. Memorials may be donated to the Friends of The Animals of Tipton or Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Jo, daughter of John William and Marie Evelyn Kinnan Frederick, was born on March 28, 1940 in Cedar Bluff, Iowa. Jo graduated from Tipton High School in 1958 and worked for the Tipton Telephone Company and enlisted in the United States Women’s Army Corps. Following her discharge, she returned to the telephone company and met the love of her life, Eldon “Ed” Dietz. They were married on September 26, 1965 in Tipton. From this union they had two daughters, Michele and Kimberly. Jo worked with special needs adults for several years and eventually became the caregiver for her husband, Ed. Jo moved into Cedar Manor in November of 2020 to be next to her beloved Ed.

Jo is survived by her two daughters, Michele (Jeff) Gipson of Bennett, Iowa and Kim Kochuyt of Marion, Iowa; three grandchildren, Juston (Ronni) Lowry-Gipson, Jesseca (Hunter) Lee, and Wyatt Kochuyt; great-grandchildren, Vincent Lee and Stella Lowry-Gipson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Ed) on June 19, 2022, brothers, Melvin, Lyle and Rhea Alan, and sister, Mary Jane Armstrong, niece, Donna Dauber and nephew, Grant “Jinks” Armstrong and her many Labrador companions.
