Judith “Jud”, daughter of Curtis and Nedra (Stonefoot) Hoalton-Kausen, was born on Sunday, January 4, 1942 in Eureka, CA. She attended school in Eureka and graduated in 1961. After having four children, Jud’s father Curtis, left Nedra to raise their children on her own. In her mid-teen years, Jud’s mother met and married Wes Kausen, who became like a father to Jud.
On September 12, 1990, Jud married Dennis Ray Dittmer in Reno, NV. Judith was the receptionist at the Johnson County Human Services in Iowa City until her retirement in 1994. Having grown up near the ocean, Jud loved the beach and traveling. She enjoyed travelling to California and destinations along the West coast of Mexico. Jud also liked to dance and favored listening to music from the 60’s. Those who knew her well, describe her as an easy going, kind, compassionate family loving woman whom everyone loved.
Judith is survived by her husband, Dennis of Tipton, IA; sons, Mark (Jessie) Asher of Kansas City, MO, Matthew (Kyla) Asher of Bellevue, NE, Dennis Pettit of Tiffin, IA and stepson, Colin Dittmer-Flynn of Union, MO; brother, Gary (Susan) Hoalton of Ferndale, CA; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
