Maralee Dotson, 83, of Atalissa, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from complications of heart failure, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22 at 10:00 am at Fry Funeral Home, burial will follow in West Liberty City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Brade DeRiemacker, Robert Dotson, Eric Adams, Kael Nelson, Justin Dotson, Jeremy Dotson, and Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Kirchner and Bill Kofron. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Fry’s.

Maralee Joyce Williams, one of 7 children, was born on February 17, 1938 in Cedar County. She was the daughter of Alfred C. and Laura L. (Christian) Williams. Maralee attended Tipton High School and on November 13, 1954 was united in marriage to Duane Dotson in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Maralee was a devoted wife and mother. She loved working on the farm with Duane, raising her children and grandchildren. Duane and Maralee were faithful members of the Tipton Bible Church.
Maralee is survived by her children; Becky (David) Mills of West Liberty, Iowa, Jim (Teri) Dotson of Wilton, Iowa, Sandra (Dave) Duncan of Austin, Texas, Dana (Kevin) Pfister of West Liberty, Iowa, Krista (Andy) DeRiemacker of Atalissa, Iowa and Ann Dotson (Darryll Alke) of West Liberty, Iowa; brothers, Warren Williams of Tipton, Iowa and Richard (Donna) Williams of Winchester, MO.; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Wilma Williams of Lisbon, Iowa, and Sharon Williams of Excelsior Springs, MO; and brother-in-law, George Sissel of DeWitt, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; sister, Peggy Sissel; brothers, Delb Williams and his wife, Laurel, Denny Williams and Allan Williams.
