Margaret Anne Ketelsen, 80, formerly of Tipton, entered her final rest on Saturday, March 25, 2023 while under the care of St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 11:00 am, First United Methodist Church in Tipton with visitation starting from 9:00 to 11:00 prior to the service. Private family burial will follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Margaret, daughter of Raymond L. Armstrong and Irma Louise Kroemer Armstrong, was born on January 26, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Margaret graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1961 and then she married Edward Albert Ketelsen on April 28, 1963 in the United Methodist Church in Tipton. Margaret worked at Cedar Manor Nursing Home as a CNA and then worked for Kirkwood Community College as an administrative assistant for several years. Margaret (and Ed) were members of the First United Methodist Church, the Tipton Lions Club, Tipton Senior Dining and various card clubs. Margaret will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit as well as her many pies that she baked and donated to the Lions Club for many years.
Margaret is survived by her children, Jenny Idlewine, Mary Jo and her husband, Brian Heil, Edward Ketelsen and his wife, Lynn, and Jamie Ketelsen and his wife, Leanne; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Richard Gade. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed, son-in-law Rex Idlewine and her sister, Linda Gade and her two grandchildren, Allison and Zach.
