Mary Ann Eileen (Mills) Haley

Mary Ann Mills was born on October 18, 1950 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of John and Eileen Wheeler Mills. Following graduation from Avon High School, she attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.   On June 17, 1972, she married Daryl E. Haley.  They moved to Tipton in 1976.

Mary Ann was a treasured elementary teacher for 35 years and received National Board Teacher Certification in 1999.   Mary Ann was so proud of her students and enjoyed helping them develop a love of learning.

Mary Ann passed away after a short personal journey with cancer.  She is survived by husband, Daryl; two daughters, Melinda Haley (and husband Steven Peacock) of Iowa City, and Melissa Reed (and husband Tom and grandson Landon) of Ely; a sister, Nancy Carpenter and family; a brother, John and many cherished friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jerry.
