Norman Forest McQuillen, son of Cyrus Forest and Millie Agnes Rush McQuillen, was born April 13, 1915, in Cedar County, Iowa. He was a 1934 graduate of Tipton High School. Norman served his country in the United States Air Force. On October 1, 1943, Norman was united in marriage to Sylvia Iona Morgan in Bettendorf, Iowa. He was a member of the Tipton VFW, where his uniform hangs today, and past Moose Lodge member. Norman retired from the United States Air Force after 27 years of service. He was also employed at Hargrave Implement and Fred's Chevrolet as a Parts Manager. Norman is survived by his wife, Sylvia McQuillen of Tipton, Iowa; his daughters, Twyla Formoso of Lebanon, Illinois, and Aloha McQuillen of Tipton, Iowa; his son, Norman MCQuillen and wife, Gloria of Tipton, Iowa; and grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda, Ryan, and Amber. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mildred, Pyra, Hazel, Florence, Ramona, Maude, and Ethel; and brothers, Cyrus, Vernon, Orville, Dean, and Arvid. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice in memory of Norman.
