Ron was born on February 23, 1939. He was the son of Wallace William and Hilda Katrina Behrens Wingert. Ron graduated from Tipton High School in 1957 and went to College at Iowa Teachers, now University of Northern Iowa. After two years he was set to go to Upper Iowa, but he turned around and came home to join his dad at the New Liberty Sale Barn and home farm. Ron married Jean Ruzek in 1960 and they had three children Scott, Randy, and Sara. They later divorced. He then married Francis Green and they later divorced.

As Ron always said in 1977,” the golden year of his life he met a classmate at his 20-year High School reunion Daisy Schroeder Satterfield. In 1978 they married, and she forever became his “Precious”. They shared 45 wonderful years on the Wingert home farm.

In 1982 Wally and Ron purchased The New Liberty Livestock Auction Barn in New Liberty, Iowa. The barn burned down in October 1988. In November 1988 Ron and Daisy bought the Mechanicsville Sale Barn, in Mechanicsville, Iowa. Ron closed the sale barn in 2003. He began order buying for several cattle plants. Throughout the years Ron sold many household and farm auctions. Ron was a self-taught auctioneer, and very proud to be the 3rd generation auctioneer of a 4th generation auctioneering family. With his favorite saying being…” Get the best, Get the best, get WINGERT!”

His passion with racing and especially dirt track midget and sprint car racing led him and Daisy to races all over the United States. One of their favorites was the Knoxville races and especially when it became a family event with the grandkids joining them. His love for racing began with his father owning midget cars from 1945-1953. And as Ron always said…”No race is too far!”

He had a beaming smile and a wonderful personality which proved to be one of his greatest assets in life. Ron and Daisy worked as a team, sharing work and home responsibilities yet, they each had their own business entities that complimented each other. He knew how to laugh and have fun, but he knew how to work. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, his home and his cattle. He will be greatly missed!

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Wingert of Tipton; children; Scott Wingert (Dawn), Shelly Quinn, Randy Wingert (Dee), Sherry Hall, Sara Ralston (Jeff). Grandchildren; Kaylee Quinn, Reece (Klaudia) and Race (Taylor) Hall, Simon, Jack, Luke, and Cheyne Wingert. Great-Grandchild; Grayson Perry Hall. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis, who was 8 years of age when he passed from polio.
