Steven Michael Helmold

Steven Michael Helmold, 50, of Tipton, entered eternity late Thursday night, June 30, 2022 from complications of cancer and a stroke while under the care of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A public Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 30th at the Tipton V.F. W. starting at 4:00 pm and will conclude later in the evening. Steven was born on June 16, 1972 in Davenport, Iowa. He was the son of Maynard and Nancy Petersen Helmold. Steven graduated from Tipton High School in 1991. On January 19, 2000, Steven was united in marriage to Tina Lea Knouse in Tipton. Steven started working for Tipton Structural Steel on July 10, 1998 and currently worked as the head of Shipping and Receiving for TSF. Steven loved his family, loved the outdoors, hunting for morel mushrooms, fishing, his dogs and cooking. He was a member of the Christian faith.

Steven is survived by his wife, Tina Helmold of Tipton; daughters, Maddie DeVore of Iowa City and Jordan (Shawn) Hora of Tipton; sons, Dylan Helmold of Iowa City and Zachary Wurr of Tipton; sisters, Lisa (David) Fulwider of Tipton; brothers, David (Pat) Helmold of Tipton, Gary (Robin) Helmold of Tipton and Jeff (Jodi) Helmold of Ottumwa; grandchildren, Brayden, Elliot and Lennon Hora all of Tipton; and his brother-in-law, Rick Piatt of Davenport;  and his beloved friends and brother by heart, Travis Galloway and  Matt Pruess. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Maynard and his sister, Lori Piatt. A memorial fund has been established in his memory and cards and letter may be sent to 851 247th Street, Tipton, Iowa 52772.
