Viola Winefred (Wilke) Koch, 102, formerly of Tipton, entered eternity on Sunday, January 31, 2021, while at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, IA.
On Saturday, February 6, 2021, Fry Funeral Home will be hosting a Visitation from 12 noon to 1:00 PM, and a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. All services will be officiated by Rev. Ron Lashmit. In remembrance of Viola, family has established a memorial fund for The Salvation Army, and asks that all cards and memorials be mailed to 150 Old Clifton Rd, Versailles, KY 40383 in c/o Steven Koch. Viola, daughter of William and Haddie (Voight) Wilke, was born on Monday, January 13, 1919, in Cedar County, Iowa. She attended country school and married Marvin Henry Koch on December 25, 1939 at the Old Lutheran Church in Stanwood, IA. Viola and Marvin were blessed with four boys and shared their Christian faith. Both Viola and Marvin graduated from ‘Power for Abundant Living’ training and continued attending in-home fellowships. Viola and Marvin were also proprietary owners and managers of Koch’s Meadow Lake Campground and after Marvin’s death in 1999, Viola continued running the campground on her own. Family describes Viola as a loving woman and mother with a strong, courageous and spunky spirit. She was never afraid of work and loved to fish and spend time with her family.
Viola is survived by, sons, David (Shari) Koch of Rancho Palas Verdes, CA, Harlan Koch and friend Gail Myers of Tipton, IA, and Steven (Patricia) Koch of Versailles, KY; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by, her parents, William and Haddie; husband, Marvin; and son, Allan Koch.
