Virjean Lea (Koering) Countryman

Virjean Lea (Koering) Countryman, age 82, of Tipton, Iowa left her earthly body and enter into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 28, 2023. She was welcomed home by her loving husband of 40 years who passed in 1998 Claire “Jim” Countryman, her parents Edwin and Florence (Ebert) Koering, her brother Larry Koering, and her sister Marcia Koering, as well as many other family members and dear friends.  
Virjean attended Lincoln High School in Stanwood, IA and was a graduate of the Class of 1958. Throughout her life she had many careers ranging from working at Buds Super Valu, Cedar Manor Nursing Home, delivering Avon, a waitress, a cook, and working 15 years for Walmart in Rogers, AR.  
When Claire retired from Alcoa in 1990, they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, a place they had been enjoying spending their vacations since 1978, playing golf and fishing. Virjean accomplished the great task of making two “Holes-in-One”, and one of those was when playing in a burgers and golf group with her son Scott.  
Virjean leaves her cherished memories to her four loving sons, Lee Countryman (Brenda) of North English, Iowa, Douglas Countryman (Linda) of Wenatchee, Washington, Scott Countryman (Yvar Torrealba) of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Matthew Countryman (Jennifer) of Camden, New York; 14 grandchildren Nathaniel, Shawna, Catie, Andrea, Bethany, Stacey, Joey, Karissa, Jessica, Amy, Jon, Amber, Lantzman, and Theodore; and 16 great grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends and family from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday July 5, 2023 at Fry Funeral Home, 220 East 6th, Tipton, Iowa 52772. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, on Thursday July 6, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services at Tipton Masonic Cemetery and then friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the Tipton United Church of Christ, 600 Mulberry St. Tipton, IA. 

In lieu of flowers, family asks that cards and memorials be mailed to 1105 Clara Ave., Apt. 7104, Panama City Beach, FL 32407. Memorials will be shared between Gentiva Health Services and Care Initiatives.
