Owner, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

David M. Fry is a fifth-generation funeral director. He purchased the funeral home from Robert & Pat Sheets in 1991 and has continued the hometown tradition of personal service ever since. He has been licensed as a Funeral Director in Iowa since 1976 and is also licensed in Indiana and North Carolina in the same capacity. He has had the privilege of caring for the deceased while helping families through the darkest days of their lives. Having lost his own father at an early age has given him a first-hand appreciation of personal loss. He holds an Iowa Life Insurance license which enables him to help families establish insurance-based funeral trust accounts for prepaying of funerals before they are needed.

David is a member-at-large of the Tipton Lions Club where he served as President from 1994 – 1995, a member of the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Volunteer Services of Cedar County, and served for 6 years as a Councilperson for the City of Tipton. He has also served at the President of the International Order of the Golden Rule Funeral Directors Association and as the President of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association. David is a Certified Crematory Operator and a Certified Preplanning Consultant.

Retired Staff - A Legacy of Service

Goldie Kelley

For more than three decades, Goldie Kelley was a familiar and welcoming presence at Fry Funeral Home. As our longtime hostess—and often the first friendly face families and visitors saw—Goldie had a special way of noticing the little things that could make a difficult day feel a little easier. Whether she was helping someone find the guest register, offering directions, or making sure coffee and cookies were ready, she cared for people with warmth and attentiveness.

Although Goldie is now retired, she will always be an important part of the Fry Funeral Home family. We are deeply grateful for her many years of devoted service, the kindness she shared with countless families, and the love she brought into our funeral home.
