David Fry grew up in Mediapolis, Iowa working with his father and grandfather in the funeral home; they were the decedents of two prior generations of “Undertakers” who started out as furniture makers and casket makers. David’s great-great-grandfather (Emanuel Fry) came to Burlington, Iowa in 1867 and moved in 1869 to a new start up town called Mediapolis. Emanuel’s son, Arthur Fry followed in his footsteps as did his son, Paul Fry, as did his son, Keith Fry, as did his son, David Fry.
